Bevan Park is a family operated business, which has always operated as a total mixed ration (TMR) System. The first feed pad was constructed in 2000, providing capacity for 250 cows. As the dairy industry in South Australia has developed, Bevan Park has slowly expanded with it, aiming to increase capacity to house 900 milking cows. In December 2008 the pads were roofed and individual cow stalls will be constructed between the cow alleys on each pad at a later date. The stalls will allow the cows to lounge on the pad during extreme weather events, which will lead to improved cow health and increased milk production.
A full feedpad development budget is included.
