The Zweck family milk approximately 200 cows on 670 ha at Blyth in the Mid North of SA. They are committed dairy farmers who focus on running an adaptable dairy business in a low rainfall region.
All available land is cropped with the exception of 8 Ha used as a ‘sacrifice’ paddock for the milking herd in wet conditions. The milking herd remains on the feedpad all year, except when conditions are difficult they are moved to the sacrifice paddock. After harvest the heifers are grazed on crop stubbles.
