Future Ready Dairy Systems

Dairy Australia

An open mind to new ideas and different approaches to dairy farming

Since late 2007, the farm has been divided into 5 soil type areas and the principles of biological farming applied to each management area.

Chemical fertilisers are still used, but the types and timing of applications has changed to ensure optimal soil biology (earthworms, bacteria, fungi, algae, protozoa and nematodes). Urea is only applied in soluble form, during winter when biological activity is lower because of lower soil temperatures
